A new AI-native wealth advisory startup is betting that personalized financial guidance no longer has to be a privilege reserved for the ultra-rich. On August 4, 2026, Decade — founded by two former Nubank executives — closed an $85 million seed round, the largest in Latin American startup history, to launch an AI financial advisor that pairs human advisers with proprietary AI for every client.

What Decade Does
The platform connects to all of a client’s accounts via Brazil’s Open Finance system — or accepts uploaded PDF statements — to build a complete picture of assets and cash flow. Its AI then analyzes portfolio concentration by asset class and geography, flags high-fee or low-quality holdings, and hunts for tax inefficiencies. Every client is matched with a senior human adviser who works alongside the AI, while the system monitors spending and investments around the clock and retains the full history of every financial conversation. According to The Next Web, Decade’s co-founder Felipe Meneses put it plainly: “Financial services are complex by design and often monetised through asymmetry of information. AI collapses that asymmetry.”
Why Brazil — and Why Now
The founders — Vitor Olivier, former CTO of Nubank, and Felipe Meneses, the first Brazilian Thiel Fellow and founder of AI startup Hyperplane (later acquired by Nubank) — chose Brazil deliberately. Only about 33% of Brazilians hold financial investments, and just 7% can sustain themselves through retirement savings. Meanwhile, Brazil’s Pix instant-payment network now processes nearly 100 billion transactions a year, proving that the country’s population is ready to embrace digital financial tools at scale.
$85M Seed and What It Signals
The round was backed by Greenoaks, Benchmark, and Diffusion — top-tier global venture funds. Decade launched with a waitlist rather than a live product, underscoring how much investor confidence rests on the founding team’s track record. The raise signals a broader shift: as AI makes sophisticated financial analysis cheaper to deliver, the robo-adviser model is evolving from simple rule-based portfolio rebalancing toward truly personalized, full-picture financial guidance — the kind that was once available only to clients with seven-figure portfolios.
