Altruist has opened a waitlist for a new financial planning module inside its Hazel AI platform — a tool the company says can produce a complete, personalized financial plan in a matter of minutes. For advisors tracking the evolution of the AI financial advisor space, this is one of the clearest signals yet that agentic AI is moving from meeting notes and CRM updates into the core of financial planning itself.

What Hazel’s Financial Planning Agent Does
According to reporting by Yahoo Finance, creating a comprehensive, customized financial plan typically takes about 18 hours. Hazel’s new planning agent does it in minutes. The tool combines client insights with deep analysis of uploaded financial documents — tax returns, account statements, estate documents — and generates an interactive, customizable plan. Rather than a static PDF handed to a client, the output is designed to make client meetings a live planning conversation rather than a one-way presentation.
Pricing, Access, and What Comes Next
The planning module is priced comparably to Hazel’s existing tax planning feature — available as a standalone product at $50 per seat per month, or bundled with tax planning at $125 per seat per month. Critically, Hazel is custodian-agnostic, meaning advisors do not need to custody assets with Altruist to use it. Altruist will onboard an initial cohort of firms for white-glove configuration and feedback before a general launch expected in August 2026. CEO Jason Wenk has signaled the pace will not slow — the firm plans to release a new AI agent every quarter through the end of the year.
Why This Matters for the Industry
The 18-hours-to-minutes compression is not just a productivity claim — it changes the economics of who can afford comprehensive financial planning. If the bottleneck of plan creation is removed, advisors can serve more clients at lower minimums, or redirect that time toward higher-value relationship work. Hazel is also the latest example of a platform betting that the next competitive moat in wealth management is not portfolio construction, but workflow automation at the advisor layer.
